Set amongst a sprinkling of Mokolwane palms, Natural Selection has opened its newest luxury safari camp, Mokolwane, in Botswana.
This small relaxed camp is located in one of the largest private concessions in the Okavango Delta. The Xudum concession (NG29) is 200,000 hectares of raw wilderness where travellers will discover Mokolwane, the only camp in the whole area and now part of our Natural Selection portfolio.
Home to big herds of elephant, buffalo and all the Okavango Delta predators, this is an ideal place to find privacy amongst the prides. In fact, it’s no surprise that National Geographic and Netflix filmmaker Brad Bestelink has chosen to base himself here. This is also leopard country, a place with the third highest density of leopards recorded anywhere in Africa.
Mokolwane is set on the Matsebi river system, ideal for winding your way along crystal clear lagoons and channels, reeded islands and fertile floodplains, looking for predators stalking the big herds. The diverse ecosystem with its varying landscapes, from open grasslands, floodplains, and lagoons to riverine and mopane forests, is home to a large number of species.
This private camp is perfect for small groups. You’ll find seven charming tents hiding 10 feet above the ground amongst the shady bows of fig, jackal berry, ilala palm and wild mangosteens. Each room, with en-suite bathrooms and comfortable interiors, emanates an earthly charm.
