Aman is the latest hotel chain to create its own aquatic adventures with Project Sama, a new superyacht-styled cruise vessel set to launch in 2025.
There has been a revolution in cruising over the past few years as lines create smaller, more agile purpose-built vessels designed to reach the world’s furthest corners. Determined not to be left behind, hotel chains have also developed their own cruise ships, including the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and now Aman’s Project Sama, a 183-meter vessel that will feature 50 spacious suited.
Aman is no stranger to cruising and already operates its own Indonesian Phinisis in Komodo. The new yet-to-be-named ship, a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi, will launch in 2025 and will export the Aman experience to the seven seas.
Designed in partnership with SINOT Tacht Architecture & Design, the vessel will see Aman’s eastern heritage and design philosophy integrated seamlessly with a contemporary superyacht experience. In addition to the 50 balcony suites, the vessel will offer travelers an array of dining options, including informal all-day dining and international options; a spacious Aman Spa, a Japanese garden, two helipads, and an expansive Beach Club concept located at the stern.
Few details have been released on the new vessel but it is expected to follow a similar model to the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, allowing for a more intimate cruising experience that visits both established and emerging destinations around the globe.
Aman currently has 33 properties around the world, with a further 8 in construction, with New York set to open next. Twelve properties also feature private branded Residences.
