Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has created two new itineraries for 2021 that capture the best culinary traditions of France.

If dining is a prime motivator when you head out to explore the world, the two new 11-day river itineraries from Scenic Cruises marry unique foodie experiences with a host of authentic cultural encounters.

The luxury cruise line has unveiled a new selection of exclusive gastronomic experiences, including an onboard dinner prepared by Michelin star chef Didier Goiffon and a cooking class at three-star Michelin chef Georges Blanc’s eponymous restaurant.

Guests on the Flavours of Bordeaux itinerary will spend a one-night pre-cruise stay at the Intercontinental Bordeaux Le Grand Hotel, tour Bordeaux in a classic Citroën 2CV, enjoy exclusive after-hours access to the immersive digital art exhibition Les Bassins de Lumières, set inside Bordeaux’s former submarine base, learn about and indulge in the Grand Cru wines of Sauternes, the French aperitif Lillet, and the wines of Médoc, and spend a full day exploring the fortified town of Cognac, accompanied by a tasting at acclaimed cognac house Rémy Martin

During the Tastes of Southern France itinerary, guests overnight at Sofitel Bordeaux pre-cruise and enjoy a tour of Lyon in the classic Citroën before sailing. Along the route, guests will join a behind-the-scenes interactive workshop at the Valrhona Cité du Chocolate museum, take in an exclusive classical concert in the Grand Tinel Room of the Palais des Papes, learn how truffles are harvested from local truffle farmers and their specially trained dogs, and indulge in some of the best vintages of Beaujolais and Côtes du Rhône. Prices start at US$6,695 per person, double, for either cruise.

In France, Scenic also offers an 11-day Beautiful Bordeaux itinerary, an eight-day Bordeaux Affair cruise; the 11-day South of France and eight-day Idyllic Rhône cruises; and the 11-day Normandy & Gems of the Seine and eight-day Highlights of Normandy & the Seine journeys.
