Natural Selection to Open Mbamba Camp in Botswana

Natural Selection has set to open its newest camp, Mbamba, in Botswana’s northern Okavango Delta, in April.

Translating as “hello” in the local Bukakhwe San Bushman dialect. Mbamba is located in the private NG12 concession in northern Okavango Delta, an area that delivers superb game viewing year-round.

Every bit a Bousfield camp, Mbamba offers a blend of remarkable guided wilderness experiences and a classic safari style. Priced identically, Mbamba and Sable Alley are perfect twins for those seeking to enjoy diverse landscapes within the Okavango Delta.

In between game drives, night drives, mokoro excursions (all year round) and boat trips (water level dependant), guests can retreat to one of 12 stylish canvas tents (four double, six twin and two family units), each with air-conditioning and artfully positioned under the shade of a stand of impressive leadwood trees.

The main mess area at Mbamba is a delight with its draped fabric and collections of ancient artefacts. Relax in the two lounges where you can spend your time perusing the glass cabinets or grabbing a drink from the well-stocked drinks cabinet, a book from the small library or relaxing around the camp swimming pool.

Meals are served family-style at the long table. Guests dine under the stars or under canvas, enjoying conversations about wildlife encounters and sharing wish lists for the day’s activities that lie ahead.

This varied habitat is also exceptional in its ability to sustain a diversity of wildlife, including rare and sought-after species. A top denning area for wild dogs, guests can frequently observe their hunting and pack behaviour near camp. This area of the Delta is also renowned for its high concentrations of lions, where prides are known to hunt big prey like buffalo that arrive in large herds.
