New Outback Lodge for Australia

A stone’s throw southwest of Darwin, Finniss River Lodge is set to open in May as Australia’s newest all-inclusive Top End adventure destination.

Home to verdant floodplains and mirrored waterways, the new lodge, located at the 200-square-kilometer Finniss River Station, a working cattle property, Finniss River Lodge has been developed by the Venturin family and consists of six suites with expansive views of the iconic Australian landscape, which includes vast wetlands, dry savannah, and paperbark forests.

Accessible from Darwin via 25-minute charter flight or 90-minute drive, the new lodge offers a premium level of luxury accommodation replete with an inviting wet-edge pool and inspired dining in which all meals will be cooked to guests’ personal preference by the resident chef using only the freshest, locally sourced, farm-gate produce.

Adding to this is the opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in station life, participate in wild adventures including airboat rides and barramundi fishing; and learn about indigenous culture in nearby Litchfield National Park at the side of the lodge’s experienced guides. Finniss River Lodge will also be a birdwatcher’s paradise and for camera enthusiasts, the photogenic early morning mists, spectacular sunsets, and natural fauna promise to be out of this world.

The region is also home to a plethora of wildlife, including flocks of magpie geese and brolgas in their thousands and iconic saltwater crocodiles.
