Emerald Cruises Launches New Epic Voyages

Emerald Cruises has launched a series of new Epic Voyages to help avid cruise travelers make up for time lost during the Covid-19 pandemic.

As international travel begins to open again in earnest, travelers are looking to make up for the lost year by going big on their next vacation, and cruise lines are reporting unprecedented interest in longer journeys and hard-to-reach places. Emerald Cruises has made it easy for those looking to indulge their wanderlust with their new Epic Voyages collection, comprised of longer, curated journeys ranging from 15 to 26 days to allow guests a chance to realize their travel dreams, visit countries they’ve longed to see and cross a few items off their bucket lists.

Available on both Emerald Cruises’ award-winning European river cruises as well as luxury ocean yacht sailings onboard the soon-to-launch Emerald Azzurra, all Epic Voyages combine two or three complementary itineraries—complete with transfers between ships when necessary—to create a single seamless adventure that calls on multiple countries.

On the rivers of Europe, Emerald Cruises has crafted a selection of Epic Voyages connecting some of the company’s most beloved routes. The 15-day Discover the Rhine and Rhône Rivers itinerary spans four countries and features some of Europe’s most iconic scenery, from the castle-studded Rhine Gorge and rolling lavender fields of Provence to the historic city centers of Lyon and Amsterdam.

Guests booking the October 8, 2022 sailing will spend a day in Amsterdam before departing to sail the Rhine through the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. In Basel, Switzerland, guests will be transferred to Lyon, France via coach where they will embark on Emerald Liberté for an eight-day sailing on the Rhône. A bonus for wine enthusiasts: both rivers traverse major wine regions and offer multiple opportunities to visit local vineyards and learn what makes each wine region unique. Other popular Epic Voyages on the rivers will include the 16-day Discover the Treasure of the Danube between Bucharest and Nuremberg, and the 15-day Discover the Rivers of France and Portugal sailing between Nice and Porto.

For those looking to unplug on an incomparable Mediterranean journey, the 26-day Discover Gems of the Mediterranean Coastlines also visits four countries, providing a deep dive into the beauty and culture of both the Western and Eastern Med. Departing from Nice on April 25, 2023, this expansive sailing carries guests onboard the 100-guest superyacht Emerald Azzurra from the stylish French Riviera, down the Western coast of Italy with ports in Corsica and Sicily before heading to the Greek Isles and Turkey before concluding in Athens.

Guests will have a hard time choosing a favorite port on a route that calls on the likes of Rome, Portofino, Amalfi, Athens, Mykonos and Istanbul, to name a few. The good news is that with 26 days onboard, there’s plenty of time to see everything or spend an entire relaxing day onboard without worrying about missing out. Those interested in immersing themselves in history will also love the 18-day Discover the Wonders of the Red Sea between Aqaba and Limassol, with ports of call in Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Cyprus and a transit through the famed Suez Canal.
