Boca de Agua in Bacalar has opened in Mexico, offering the unique opportunity to spend the night in a luxury treehouse
Located on the Yucatán Peninsula, in a very slow and vibey little town, and set on the magical Lake Bacalar aka Laguna de los Siete Colores, Boca de Agua is a new hospitality project with environmental sensitivity at its forefront.
Designed by renowned architect Frida Escobedo and built at the intersection of ecosystem preservation and wellbeing, this savvy eco-lodge’s 26 design-driven treehouse accommodations float on pillars to avoid covering the ground and reduce the environmental impact.
Each of these unique spaces, which start from 45-sqm jungle treehouse and range to the 90-sqm two-bedroom pool treehouse, are crafted in FSC certified tropical hardwood and dressed in neutral tones.
Each treehouse is designed to allow guests to share their time at the property with the mostly intact jungle, including the wildlife that freely roams beneath. In fact, the entire construction is designed to age naturally over time and tell its own story.
Be sure to leave time to sample cuisine laced with locally-sourced ingredients, and take some time out in the intimate spa, a serene escape with handmade amenities.
